


Charles Anthony "Buster" Williams (born April 17, 1942) is an American jazz bassist. Williams is known for his membership in pianist Herbie Hancock's early 1970s group, as well as working with guitarist Larry Coryell, the Thelonious Monk repertory band Sphere and as the accompanist of choice for many singers, including Nancy Wilson.

Legendary jazz bassist Buster Williams is celebrating his 80th year on earth with a new album called “Unalome.” The bassist and bandleader compiled several jazz and Latin standards for the album and a handful of new originals.

Jazz bass icon Buster Williams celebrated his 80th birthday in April, and over his eight decades he’s continually grown. In fact, he’s still growing, which is part of the meaning behind his newly announced album, “Unalome.”

It’s well known that the connection between a bassist and drummer is an essential one. That’s why Nicholas Payton recruited the legendary duo of Buster Williams and Lenny White for his latest record, “The Couch Sessions.”

Three years after its initial release, the incredible documentary, “Buster Williams: Bass To Infinity”, is available on DVD and BluRay. The film explores the life and career of the legendary jazz bassist, who just turned 80 years old.

After premiering in 2019, the Buster Williams documentary “Bass to Infinity” is now available via major streaming platforms. The film follows the jazz legend’s life and career with interviews, jam sessions, and brilliantly animated stories.
