

John William Casady (born April 13, 1944) is an American bass guitarist, best known as a member of Jefferson Airplane and Hot Tuna. Jefferson Airplane became the first successful exponent of the San Francisco Sound. Singles including "Somebody to Love" and "White Rabbit" charted in 1967 and 1968. Casady, along with the other members of Jefferson Airplane, was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996.

Hot Tuna hits the road as Jack Casady helps Jorma Kaukonen mark his 85th birthday with a nationwide acoustic tour and special shows.

Jack Casady has had a signature Epiphone semi-hollow bass for many years, but the rock legend has shaken things up with a fretless version. The Epiphone Jack Casady Fretless Bass is described as the culmination of the bassist’s years of experimentation.

Acoustic Hot Tuna is setting out on another tour across the U.S. this summer, stretching from July to October. The masterful duo of Jorma Kaukonen and Jack Casady have been playing together for seven decades, and the bond has only deepened.
