About Bassists.com

Celebrating the heroes of the low end.

The bass shapes the feel of a song. It anchors the harmony, drives the groove, and often defines the identity of a band. Yet the players behind it are rarely the focus.

Bassists.com exists to spotlight those musicians.

This is a place to explore the world of bass through the people who built it. Read bassist bios, dig into their bands and associated acts, and discover the albums they helped create. Follow connections across genres. Start with someone you know and see where it leads.

The idea for Bassists.com dates back to 1999, but didn’t materialize until 2026. The domain was purchased long before No Treble was launched, when the original vision was to build a dedicated site focused entirely on bassists. No Treble became an online magazine, and this idea stayed in the background. Now it has its own home.

Bassists.com was created by Corey Brown, founder of No Treble, after more than 16 years spent covering bass players and the culture around the instrument. This site brings that same focus into a format built for discovery.

We added 100 bassists at launch (with 830+ bands/artists, and over 3,100 albums). Our plan is to expand it steadily over time. The goal is to build a lasting, growing archive that celebrates the musicians behind the low end.

If there’s a bassist you think belongs here, we’d love to hear from you.
